of the nightmares,
as the aperture closes off all
but the one who cares.
My routine is the same,
just to keep the house safe
'cause it comes in
crashing like a plane,
a fireball in the sky,
now it's flying down the street
as I'm writing out your name
it's no secret
we keep no secret.
Pull my coat off the chair,
the season's gotten cold
and there's snow in the air
that's blown off the rooftops,
gunshots, distant sound
of a bass drop,
headphones - gotta turn them up a lot.
It's no trouble.
You don't need to see the struggle
just to maintain the space,
just to clean all the plates
and the bowls and the cups,
wonder if I'm doing enough
to own up,

too hard to make the means,
